Catchcold Tower and West Quay, Southampton
Southampton, Hampshire, UK
About half of the original one mile of town walls survives, with nearly half of the original 29 towers and six of the eight gates still standing.

After the Norman invasion of 1066, Southampton became the largest port on the south coast, developing trade links with France and then the rest of Europe and the Mediterranean. The town's success as a port lasted right through to the 1500s.

The chief trade was the import of wine and the export of wool.

WestQuay makes Southampton the premier shopping destination for the region, with some of the finest shops and restaurants in the South.

The centre offers an unrivalled combination of fabulous brands in a superbly designed, spacious environment right in the heart of the city.

WestQuay is situated in the heart of Southampton City Centre and there are fast road links to Southampton via the M27 and M3. The best way to get to Southampton is to take the M27 to Junction 3, and then the M271, following signs to WestQuay and the City Centre.

WestQuay's normal opening times are:

Monday 9am to 6pm
Tuesday 9am to 6pm
Wednesday 9am to 6pm
Thursday 9am to 8pm
Friday 9am to 6pm
Saturday 9am to 6pm
Sunday 11am to 5pm
